Cookie Hunter...

I find the kitchen like this often...
Mac likes his cookies.
I have to hide them.
Or he'll eat them all.

What In The World?!?!?!?!!!!

I was met by Mac's teacher as I was standing in line to pick the little stinker up this afternoon.  She said he had a major meltdown over...wait for it...wait for it...TALLY MARKS!!!  Oh, the horra!!!
{insert dramatic eye roll}

She explained that he did not like making the 5th tally mark slanted across the other tally marks. She tried telling him to "close the gate" and other similar terms to help him with the process.  He was not having it!!  He wanted the 5th tally mark to stand tall just like the previous 4!!!  She told me they abandoned ship and she let him read a book to get off the dreaded tally mark gate closing.  His poor sweet teacher said that Mac told her, "You're making me feel like a child!!"  What in the world?!?!!  She wanted me to know she did not do anything to upset him but that it was important to learn how to make tally marks for graphing later on.
{Bless Her Heart}

MY WORD!!!!!

So...at home, we made tally marks out of construction paper.  I told him to show me 2 tally marks...4 tally marks...5 tally marks...8 tally marks...14 tally marks.  Stinker did them the right way every time.
{insert dramatic eye roll}

Why he gave his sweet teacher so much grief today is beyond me.
He did say they were boring.

GEEZ LOUISE!!!!!

I expect challenges along the way...but I never expected tally marks to be one of them!!

2017 Tiger Buds!!

 It's football season...and that means it's time for Tiger Buds!!!  Tiger Buds are Snyder High School football players, cheerleaders, and managers that team up with Snyder Primary and Intermediate classrooms to give their little buds a glimpse into what could be their future and to serve as role models.  The Tiger Buds meet with their little buds in their classroom throughout the school year, and the little buds love it!!  On Fridays during football season, the Tiger Buds wear their football jerseys and cheerleading outfits and greet little students as they walk into school.  It's neat to see the little buds' faces light up and see how impressed they are by them!!  Our boys love trying to find their Tiger Bud on the football field at the games too!!  It's such a fun and neat program!!

The Best Time...

We had the BEST TIME golfing with Daddy!!!  It's a sport he loves and has wanted us to enjoy with him.  WTC, Snyder's junior college, has a beautiful golf course!  It was a great evening to be outdoors together as a family.  Ian took a real interest right off the bat!  Mac and Tye loved the golf carts!  We are definitely going back to the course soon!!  It's fair to say...we made Beau's day!!

   MAC

Mac is in 1st grade!!  He has been so excited about 1st grade!!  Mac's latest obsession has been robot suits.  He wants to build a robot suit so he can be a hero and save the world!  He needs machines and "a little help" to make his robot suit!  Mac wants to be a Dad when he grows up and have 10 kids, 5 boys and 5 girls!  His "beautiful wife" will get to name each one!  Mac is his brothers' best friend, playing games with Ian and playing pretend games with Tye.  He enjoys watching his favorite tv shows Teen Titans Go! and Ben10, collecting Pokemon cards, and telling great stories.  Mac is 4 foot 5 3/4 inches tall...And he's hungry all.the.time!!  His teacher this year is Mrs. Manning.  We hope Mac has a great 1st grade year!!

TYE

Tye is a big Kindergarten boy!!!! He's the last Kindergarten boy of our family!! Tye has been so excited about starting Kindergarten, especially after finding out his teacher was going to be Mr. Miller!!  He's just the coolest Kindergarten teacher ever!!  Since moving to our new home, Tye loves playing in his room.  He plays for hours with his toys, especially his dinosaurs.  I love to walk by and see him playing!  He likes Ghostbusters too and can't wait to be one for Halloween!  Tye loves his pets and they love him back!  Jax, our cat, is his little buddy and spends most nights sleeping with Tye in his bed. He enjoys when his cousins or his best friend Conner come over to play.  Tye likes swimming in our new pool and playing outside.  Tye is exactly 4 foot tall.  I can't believe my baby is in Kindergarten!!!  We hope he has the best time learning in Kindergarten!!

Our sweet boy was wiped out and asleep by 5:00.
