Having all three boys in school and at the same campus has been fun!! They all get to experience the same fun things...like Tiger Buds, Tattoos, and Football Games!! Tiger Buds is a mentorship program where Snyder High School athletes, cheerleaders, managers, trainers are assigned to a class on the Snyder Primary and Intermediate campuses. Oftentimes you'll see football players in their jerseys and jeans and cheerleaders greeting the kids at drop-off on Football Fridays. They have pep rallies at the Primary and Intermediate campuses. The Tiger Buds meet with the kids in their classroom each week during the fall and several times throughout the year to encourage them and tell the littles to set their sights high because one day they'll be a big kid and maybe even a Tiger Bud!! The little kids really look up to them!! Little eyes watch them as they perform on the field too!! It also is a time for the littles to give back to their Tiger Bud by encouraging them with their support!! Teachers decorate their classroom doors and give care packages to their Tiger Buds. It's a really great program!!
Every Friday the boys wear their Tiger Buds t-shirts. Mac and Tye show even more support for our Snyder Tigers by wearing tattoos!! (Ian isn't a tattoo fan.) We have gone to one home game so far this season and look forward to many more! It happened to be Freedom Friday. Such a neat experience! The boys really enjoyed it! Ian took notice of the bands. We talked about the opportunity he would have in years to come of maybe being a part of one! Mac was really into rooting for the Tigers. He stood up and clapped and yelled for them after good plays! Tye loved the Tiger tent the football players ran through at the beginning of the game!
Being a part of a small town is definitely fun during football season!! The sense of community this town has and the support that is shown is a wonderful thing to experience and be a part of!! Some of my fondest childhood memories are going to Snyder Tiger football games with my best friend Emily Zeck and her family and eating marshmallow brownies after the game!! Yum!! I hope to create many football season memories with our boys too!! Go Tigers!!!!
