Mac Andrew ~ The Day You Were Born

Tomorrow is a very special day for our littlest boy!!! Today I'd like to take a trip down memory lane to the day Mac Andrew was born.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I'd labored long and hard with your big brother. Almost 14 hours! Your birth was such a different experience! There were no labor pains, no spiking contractions, no forever waiting wondering if you'd ever come into this world. We arrived at the hospital early and anxious for the planned C-section scheduled for 10:00 a.m. With grandparents and Ian close by anxiously waiting in the waiting room and after what seemed like a kajillion gallons of fluid was pumped into my body, it was time to go and meet you!

Mommy was super jittery this go-round but ever so happy this day had finally come! And Daddy couldn't wait to finally meet you for the first time!

Mommy and Daddy anxiously waiting time for your arrival!

You're almost here!

We were wonderfully blessed with your healthy arrival at 10:43 a.m., February 10th, 2010, weighing 8 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 21 3/4 inches long!

Daddy couldn't get over the amount of hair you had!!! Before I ever laid my eyes on you, I heard over and over from him, "Look at all that hair!!" The jury is still out to this day as to exactly what color your hair is!

My first look at you as the nurse held your bundled little body up over the curtain was you looked so much like your big bubba! But after a little time had passed and I got a better look at your cute little face in the recovery room, you looked like a completely different baby! You looked even more like your daddy than Ian!!! You quickly were given the nickname Baby Beau!

Proud Daddy!

First kiss!

After some special time spent watching you have your first bath and get checked out from head to toe and nursing for the first time, it was time to meet your brother and your grandparents! Ian wasn't too sure about you and kept his distance. You were greeted by so many who loved you! And before we knew it, our dear friends and your little buddies began to arrive to meet you too!

Getting all checked out!

First bath!

Sweet time with our baby boy!

Your first day we enjoyed getting to show you off to our friends and family! And our second day with you proved to be one for the record books! During your first night with us, it snowed and snowed and snowed!!! Your first snow!! And by morning, over a foot of snow covered the ground! It was beautiful!!! Weather conditions prevented anyone from being able to come and visit. So your daddy and I got to spend the whole day captivated by you...and just you!!!

The next day was going home day! We bundled you up in your cute little outfit, loaded you in your new car seat and into the backseat of the car, me back there with you, and carefully drove you home. Snow was piled so high in our driveway we had to park on the street!

You were home! Just where you belonged!

In one instant, our hearts did what we couldn't fathom it being able to do . . . have room enough to love another baby boy as much as we loved our first son!

What an amazing little blessing God gave us when He gave us you, Mac Andrew!!! We are so proud to be your parents!!! You are such a special little boy!!! We love you!!!
